A certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) trainer and Certified Hypnotherapist, Jeff holds a master’s degree in Professional Counseling. He has been in China for 9 years and prior to starting his company, REV, he served 26 years with distinction as a combat helicopter pilot and flight instructor with the Singapore Air Force, rising to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. As a trusted life coach to many of his clients, Jeff specializes in coaching, counseling and hypnosis therapy, all accomplished with a healthy dose of NLP–which just means that his clients are offered practical suggestions to guide them on their journey to personal excellence.

How he got to China

Jeff planned on retiring at 55 from his military career but the military threw him a curve ball with an early forced retirement. During an NLP workshop, Jeff was completely inspired to change the direction of his life and that’s how his adventure to China began.

Failure moment

‘Just one,’ Jeff jokes. (That’s how I know I’ve got a true entrepreneur on the line!) He has failed loads of times, so instead of telling us a story, he shares the root of his failure – FEAR. He recounts how in the early days, sending off a mass email to his email list could give him nightmares and shares with us his technique to conquer fear: READY – FIRE – AIM. He talks at length of why ‘firing’ before ‘aiming’ is just the approach he needed to propel both his personal life and his business forward.

Tips for staying motivated

Jeff actually leaves the country once a month to decompress. It gives him a reward to look forward to as well as provides time to refresh and REV-up again for the next month (yes, pun totally intended!).

What’s next for REV

Big news for REV! Jeff and his team have created a mobile platform to take corporate training on the go for their clients. Instead of ‘paying big bucks’ for a trainer once in a blue moon, organizations can now use their innovative, creative and FUN training app to track the progress of their own teams.
